Like most women I hate it when hairs start to regrow. I was looking for a product that would help me after epilator and I think I have found it. Veet’s moisturiser gives me a smooth, silky finish to my legs and gives an extra 5 days before they start growing back. The creamy consistency is almost a lotion in feel as it is quite runny. My Fiancee thinks it smells like a sun cream but I think it smells great! It doesn’t leave my legs greasy or sticky and quickly absorbs into my skin.
Overall I have been impressed buy this product and I will buy this again.
Marks and Spencer is the mainstay of the British high street. It’s the place for lingerie, great biscuits and now beauty products.
I saw this beautiful little owl inspired eye palette and this was so cute I had to have it. Look at the photos, it’s so lovely!
A lovely, soft and silky colour range which is perfect for the Autumn and Winter. A soft green, a deep blue, a shimmery black, a gold, a darkish brown and a cream which completes the 6 colours. It also has a little applicator to complete the palette. It’s a perfect everyday palette for making your imagination work. You can have all this loveliness for £7.50! I will definitely buy more of M&S beauty in the future. Good value and nice quality.
This will be a new series of posts which I will explain some of my favourite beauty things that I have and why I love them.
It was July 2010 and my now fiancée and I were preparing to go home to Latvia and attend my eldest sister’s wedding. As we couldn’t get flights from Gatwick we had to fly out of Stansted in Essex. This was rather disappointing as Gatwick is close to us but I’m so glad we didn’t in the end!
Going through to our gates for our flight we were delighted by the shopping of Stansted! Bobbi Brown, MAC and the various, delightful perfume stands of the great companies. The one that caught my eye was the Victoria’s Secrets stand. This was before the shops in the new Stratford shopping centre and the flagship store in Bond Street. I had only seen them on the internet or in magazines so seeing them was a real wow!
It caught my eye immediately. Sitting open on display was the ultimate make up kit. The shiny, black case with VS in pink in the top right hand corner of the pallet. Here was the perfect size pallet with everything a woman needs in one simple, compact case. The only thing you could require to take with was extra brushes. The case consists of 3 stackable trays.
The top tray contain 30 eye shadows with colours ranging from your everyday neutrals to your smoky greens, blues and purples. The eye shadows are all semi-pigmented and on the shimmery side. A sliding side opening reveals the middle section of 5 lip glosses, 5 lip sticks, eye pencil, lip pencil, mascara and 5 mini brushes. The last section consists of 4 blushers, bronzer, luminous powder and a translucent powder. The range of colours is terrific and any look can be achieved. As you can see in the photos, the lip glosses have been used every day and so have the eye shadows. The brushes haven’t been touched but everything else has been used. The quality is superb, the eye shadows and the blushers have lovely pigmentation. The price of this happiness was £25! One of the best beauty deals I have ever bought.
My one regret is that I should have bought 2 of the sets as I haven’t seen any more of these here in the UK (you could check on Ebay) and what will I do when it finishes?
I hope you enjoyed this and please let me know what are your favourite beauty things?
Summer has gone, so it’s time to say goodbye (until next year of course) to dresses, sandals and bright nail polish. Autumn is upon us so darker, neutral shades will be the order of the day from now on. Here are my 3 favorites from the summer which I have been enjoying over the summer.
Love to hear from everybody about their favorite nail polishes.
Misguided Splash ‘Misslead’. This was a free gift when I bought Cosmopolitan magazine. I put on 2 coats as it gave a lovely, sparkle finish.
Revlon Scented Parfume ‘Orange Fizz’. This did need 2-3 coats to get the effect. It reminds me of the fizzy drink Fanta and when it dried it really did smell of oranges!
Avon Arabian Glow Nailwear Pro ‘Sunshine’. I love the colour but it required 2 coats as the brush left stroke marks.
One of the most difficult things for a woman to achieve is to find the correct foundation for their skin. I find choosing the correct foundation to cover the uneven tones on the skin to make the skin glowing and radiant is challenging. But now there is a new way to help us ladies thanks to Boots, the American company, X-rite and N0 7 creative director Lisa Eldridge.
Together they have developed a small hand held device which is made up of 8 led lights and 1 UV light. Each light enters the skin at a different angle and the cameras attached take 27 skin photographs with each click. As shops have ambient light it doesn’t affect the readings.
Today I went to the Boots in Eastbourne to try this new device to match my skin tone to the correct foundation. Firstly they ask a few basic questions on your type of skin, what look you want to achieve and if you have any skin issues you want the foundation to address. I have dry oily skin, I prefer a radiant and glowing complextion (no matt finish, as it makes my skin look flaky) and would like my foundation to hide the blemishes on my skin. The test takes a matter of a few minutes by placing the device on the jaw lines on both sides of the face. A reading produced 3 bars which was a successful match to the colour of Calico. So far so good I thought.
The consultant then applied foundation Instant Radiance to my skin which matched very well when I went outside into the natural light but the application of the foundation was poorly applied by her leaving my skin cakey and with visible brush strokes. My fiancée had to blend it himself with his fingers to tidy it up.
This could revolutionize the beauty industry with this new device and I cannot wait to see how the established brands will react to this new development. I have no doubt that they will try and produce their own devices to compete with N0 7’s. Looking at the other counters today and how empty they were compared to the busyness of the No 7 counter, I would think they will want it very soon!
