I hope everyone had plenty of rest and now it’s back to normal life after the festive period. I’m starting with a perfume bought as a present. Lancôme originated as a perfume company and later moved into the cosmetic industry. I have tried many of their cosmetics but this review will be about their latest perfume. La Vie Est Belle translates into ‘life is beautiful’ and the bottle is a beautiful creation and is a redesign of the classic 1949 bottle. It is a simple, understated, classic bottle.
The perfume itself from the first spray is a strong, orange blossom, jasmine with oriental green tea overtones in the background. It settles down with a lovely warmth with tonka beans, vanilla and iris being the dominate scents. I wouldn’t say it was very sweet as other reviewers have mentioned but there is a toffee sweetness in the background which doesn’t overwhelm the perfume in my view.
This is a floral perfume with a hint of citrus and sweetness and with a very long lasting time. It may not be original and there is quite a few similar perfumes on the market but it does it in a very classy way.
