I received this mini perfume set for Christmas and I want to show my thoughts of them. Rituals was founded in 2000 and it’s philosophy is simple, transform your everyday routines into meaningful rituals. Inspired by Eastern traditions you can create calmness in your own home. Teas, cosmetics, body care ( for women and men) are all part of the Rituals experience.
The set is made up of 3 10ml bottles of perfume. They have these lovely wooden tops and have simple shaped bottles. They are perfect if you are travelling or in a small clutch bag if going out for the evening.
The first was is vanilla drops and sweet orange (No 9) It really has a lovely oriental, orange scent with a hint of vanilla in the background.
The second perfume is white patchouli and cedar wood (No7). My favourite of the three. Very different from most perfumes. It’s earthy, yet warm with a lovely wood scent.
The last one is violet and white lily (No4). Of course, it has a real heavy floral scent. They say it is fruity but I can’t smell it.
They don’t last all day but I can still feel it on my clothes some hours later. These are a really lovely set if you don’t know which to buy and will give the receiver a good idea which to buy in the future. I hope that I will receive a full size bottle of N0 7 in the future!
I visited Professional Beauty at the Excel Centre a few weeks ago and haven’t posted my buys from the show. I should have bought a large trolley or suitcase like some women did. This was my second time visiting the show and it amazes me how much fake tan and botox there is on show! First stand to look at was Leighton Denny’s. I wanted everything from this stand but I resisted! I ended up with a four in one nail treatment. It is a base coat, top coat, ridge filler and clear gloss coat in one bottle. I have to confess I haven’t used it yet but I will do a review of it later.
I am getting interested in wanting to do more nail treatment, so I purchased a few things from Cuccio Naturale. The first thing was a cuticle oil which you massage into your nails and a pomegranate and fig manicure/pedicure soak. You fill a manicure bowl with warm water and drop 1-2 balls into it and soak your hands and feet for a few minutes.
I always like Mavala polish so I bought from the new spring collection a electric green(126) which looks fab and from their old collection Riga(56) which is a baby pink, perfect for weddings.
There are always new companies trying to break into the nail polish market, and a new one was Morgan Taylor from LA. They were giving away goodies and I was disappointed to find a small bottle of water and a leaflet! I had expected 1 or 2 trial size bottles of nail polish!! I did purchase a light pink-purple colour with fine glitter inside. A review awaits this new purchase and I was very impressed by the products and the colour range of them.
I haven’t tried Jessica products before so I bought a crystal ionized nail soak called Jessana. I have seen reviews of it before and decided to try some.
I subscribed again to Professional Beauty magazine, last year I received Elemis anti ageing cream set which I gave to my mama. This year they gave a Elemis Lime and Ginger body lotion and body wash set and this time it’s for me!
I finally purchased a wax heater set at the special price of £22.00 and I hope it will serve me well.
I’m studying Level 3 massage and I saw a small display of massage wax. Massage wax has the advantage of been less messy than oil and I finally found an supplier called Songbird who supplies all different types of organic waxes.
There you go, that is my very quick view of the Professional Beauty 2013. It did seem busier and more money been spent than last year and a few more new companies trying to enter the market.
Here is a selection of my favourite things I have been using in February. Some new and some I have used often and like because they always do what I need.
Clarins Daily Energizer Cream – A lovely cream that absorbs onto the skin and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, a great product.
Lancome Softening Hydrating Toner – This refreshes the skin before you use creams.
L’Oreal Anti Redness Primer – I do suffer from some redness in my skin and this really does help to cover it.
MAC Mineralize Satin Finish Foundation – My third bottle. Enough said!
L’Oreal Elvive Damage Care Serum – Quite a thick oily serum but does the job for the ends on my hair.
Escada Marine Groove EDT – A sweet scent with a touch of bitterness. Just love it!
L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Hand Cream – Has grape seed oil in it which really moisturizes the hands and leaves a wonderful floral scent which you can smell all day. Delicious!
M&S limited edition ‘Heart’ eyeshadow pallet and blusher – There is real value to the M&S range and they don’t disappoint either. Great colour range to the eye shadows and the blusher is a lovely light pink and a touch of shimmer to it as well.
Palmers Lip Balm – I have never tried this before and I have been impressed. Keep my lips moist.
Maybelline watershine Diamonds – A purple pink lipstick with lots of shimmer and is called rose diamonds. A real favourite as the colour is amazing.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 hour 05 eternal gold colour – A favourite with most other bloggers and you can see why. The pigment holds really well, may not last 24 hours with me but it is a great product anyway. I keep saying to myself that I will try the others in the range!
