Five Things I Can’t Live Without…

Hi Everybody,

All women have beauty things that they cannot live without before they go out. It might when going out to work, the weekend when relaxing out with friends. It gives you the confidence, the extra bounce in your step, the feeling that everything will be great today. It might be mascara that pops your eyes. It might be bright lipstick so you feel sexy or the perfume that gives you the beautiful scent.

I have chosen five as I couldn’t pick less!

Coverage – I have problem with redness so I must use a cream to cover it and hide it and to give an even look. I use a CC cream from Bourjois and it’s great as it hydrates, corrects and is SPF15. Loving it at the moment.

Mascara – It doesn’t matter if you don’t wear eye shadows as long as you have Mascara to pop your eyes. Lipgloss and Mascara and you’re ready for anything! I’m using N0 7 Exceptional Defination and it gives you a real wow impact.

Lipgloss – It can give great shine and full plump lips and it can moisturise. It doesn’t smudge and if you don’t have lipstick on you, the lipgloss can cover it.I use a lot more lipgloss than lipstick  as it doesn’t dry your lips and leaves a nice gloss. At the moment, I’m using Chanel 166 Amour,a beautiful pink with a little shimmer. Love this a lot.

Hand Cream – As you know I love hand creams. I work in a difficult, dusty environment where I work with my hands all the time. Your hands age quicker than your face so I have always protected my hands for many years. People always look at hands and you can guess what they do. At the moment I am using Origins Make a Difference Rejuvenating Hand Cream and it moisturises my hands well and really absorbs and hydrates them nicely.

Perfume- What a surprise you say. This is the most personal of all things beauty as we are all different. Each person has a individual response to scent. I like flora, fruity, sweet perfumes and I love each one I own. I always use a different perfume everyday, according to my mood! Today I used Givenchy Ange ou DemonLe Secret EDP.  A floral scent with citrus, white flowers and jasmine tea.  A beautiful scent and go to a shop and take a sniff!

What are your favourite things you can’t live without?

On My Nails – Mavala Fresh Melon

Hello Everybody,

I hope everybody is enjoying the good weather (here in the UK, the weather has been good) I thought with spring with us and summer not so far away, I would look at one of the bright, pastel colours for my nail polish review. In this time of the year, I do like to wear a soft bright nail polish and I do like Mavala colours. I choose to wear Mavala Fresh Melon which is a pale orange colour which reminds me of a cantaloupe melon.  I did use Maval’s protective base before applying the polish and  Mavala’s colourfix which prevents chipping. It’s a lovely colour, easy to apply and I always put on two coats on for a more intense colour. I have worn it for a week and I still have a good coverage on my nails with some slight chipping on them after a week of hard work!

It really is a perfect colour for the time of the year and I have really enjoyed using this pastel orange  as it is different to the more usual colours we use.

Body Shop Brushes

Hi Everybody,

If you use quality make-up,you really do need to use quality make-up brushes to really see the best effect of the make-up. I have many different brands of brushes.  These include MAC, Rae Morris, Eco Tools, Real Techniques, No 7 and Japanesque. Recently I have been using Body Shop brushes and as you know I do love Body Shop products. They are great value, products that really work on you,  and make great gifts for everybody. They are also supporters of Fairtrade and other charity organisations. I don’t think I have been disappointed by one of their products. I haven’t seen that many reviews on their brushes so I decided to give my view on them.

I have all but one of their collection. They are made of  synthetic hair which are super-soft when applied to your skin. They are the softest brushes I have ever used. They have a simple matt black plastic finish with a useful flat bottom so you can it stand it upright. The Foundation Brush is my favourite,it has a smallish pointed head which is perfect to apply the foundation in difficult places, around the nose and the eyes and creates an even finish.  It’s so good I hardly use my MAC foundation brush now. All the others I have (Blusher, Face and Body, Slanted,Eyeshadow and Eyeshadow Blender) work wonderfully,  they are soft and easy to work with.

April Favourites.

Hi Everybody,

April has gone by so quickly, it’s nearly summertime! Time for my favourites for April.

Toni&Guy Cleanse and Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner.

I have used Head & Shoulders,Pantene or Dove hair products recently, but I decided to try something different. With hair products I tend to try all the different makes. I tried Toni&Guy for damaged hair this time and I have liked it very much. My hair looked shiny and stronger. I do like the push button to open the bottle, really cool!

Toni&Guy Prep Heat Protection Mist.

Ruth at ‘A model recommends’ said it was a really good product and she wasn’t wrong! I spray it on my damp hair before I dry it and it really helped.  You can also spray it on dry hair. Nice product.

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Mask.

I have mentioned this before and I have gone through another pot of it. Love the smellof it and still a wonderful product.

L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil.

This is a nourishing oil for all hair types which can be used in damp or dry hair. I use it on dry hair from my mid length to the ends where it needs more help. An excellent product.

Michael Todd Make up Aloe & Cucumber Towelettes.

My sister gave me a pack to try. They are wonderful gentle whips, very soft and refreshing with no oily residue.  They really do take off mascara and foundation very easily. They also have a plastic cover which keeps the top whips moist. They smell of melons and not cucumber!

St Ives Apricot Scrub Invigorating.

I have mentioned this scrub before but it really is a great product. I do get bumps on my face and this helps in removing them.

Origins Make a Difference Plus + Rejuvenating Treatment Lotion.

This mini sample come with in a set and this rejuvenates and hydrates the skin with rose of jericho, watermelon and lychee.  You tap it onto your skin so it absorbs it. It’s £20.00 for a bigger bottle so I will have to buy one.

Lancome Genifique.

A sample of this wonderful product. I apply it before I go to bed before I put on my moisturiser. My skin is glowing the next morning.

Bobbi Brown Extra RepairMoisturizing Balm SPF 25.

Another sample. It is a rich cream, not at all heavy on my skin. It is so light and only need a small amount on it. It really hydrates the skin and protects it from the sun. The down side is the price of a full size bottle..£62.00

Pai Organic Skin Care Sampling Set.

This is a lovely set of six tiny pots, for dry, combination and sensitive skin. My favourites are the Avocado &  Jojoba hydrating day cream and the Chamomile & Rosehip skin cream. This one really did help with my redness. Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliator was also nice to use. A useful set for £5.00 which also included a muslin cloth.

Sukin Moisture Restoring Night Cream.

First of all, this is a naughty word in the Russian Language! I bought this Australian product from Infinity Foods in Brighton (one of the best shops in my view,I never go past without having a look there). This night cream has a unusual texture to it. It feels whipped but not sticky and you don’t need to use much of it. I also use it not just on my face but also my neck. After all I don’t want to have turkey neck! My skin in the morning feels supple, soft and moisturised It’s a shame this company doesn’t get the attention it should. This is a great value product and it uses natural products  and for a price which is a  lot less than the other famous brands. I must buy the day cream! Thank you Sukin!!

It still can a feel a bit nippy and I do love my scarves as they are lovely to wear with your jacket.

Kylie Minogue – Kiss Me Once CD.

I haven’t stopped listening this CD since I bought it. A wonderful uplifting album which you want to dance too all the time. My favourite video is sexercize which I want to go the gym and being sexy so you can have a bum like Kylie’s!

Diptyque Olene EDT Review.

Hi everybody!

I didn’t expect t0 be in love in with Diptyque again with one of the perfumes. I reviewed Do Son in February and I didn’t expect to buy a another.

This EDT is for people who love floral fragrances! The top notes are narcissus and honeysuckle with the middle notes being jasmine and wisteria. The base is green tea and white flowers.  I really do think that jasmine is the stand out scent from this. It reminds me of a summer evening after a very hot day and the flowers around are at their most fragrant.

Even though it is a EDT it is a long-lasting fragrance which, on me, lasts all day.

This is a feminine, tender soft and summer perfume. I will wear this a lot..
