Wealden Times Midsummer Fair.

Hi everybody,

If you read the Wealden Times magazine (which covers the Kent and Sussex area of England) you will know that they also organize a Summer Fair in June. This year we decided to visit it for the first time at Hole Park outside the village of Rolvenden in the one most beautiful parts of the country. The fair has a mixture of various companies selling hand -made crafts, jewellery leather ware, clothes, paintings, furniture, garden plants and furniture, food and drink. Everything for your home, your body and for your stomach! Expensive? Yes and No.  But this fair is about quality and you wouldn’t find these things in the high street in which the emphasis is on price rather than quality. Thankfully people still look for quality!

I did found a few stands selling lovely quality natural beauty products. The first one was a company called Bee Inspired. She had a lovely stand selling face creams, hand creams, lip products, soaps and candles. They keep bees and have developed a range of creams from traditional recipes using pure beeswax and honey combined with natural ingredients. I bought the geranium and orange hand cream and a lip balm. Lovely simple packaging and the smell and feel of the hand creams were lovely. I look forward to using the hand cream.

The second stand was Bryt Skincare. The first thing I noticed was a notice stating that Waitrose supermarkets were taking the range this July!  This has to be really good if Waitrose are taking this as they sell Korres, Neal’s Yard in their supermarkets.  The woman on the stand, Catkin Weymyss Bodmer said that they have developed a 3-plan step for great skin: Clean, nourish and protect. My husband bought the shaving oil for himself and I choose the Calm serum for combination skin. I should have bought all three parts to the process but I would add all three parts over time. The packaging is quality and I will add a review later for the serum but the tester I tried quickly felt lovely on me. I wish them all the best for their venture with Waitrose, a great achivement for the company!

I also found a natural pumice stone, a wonderful product so much better than the fake ones you find in the high street!
