Hi Everybody,

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and now it’s party time for New Year! So you need to look great and it’s a perfect occasion to wear some pretty nail colour and of course with some sparkle!

I used a rich burgundy colour from Lancome and added a touch of sparkle by Ciate ‘Confetti’ on the tip of my nail to create a French manicure style for that party look.

I hope this look will inspire you for your party for the New Year or treat yourself to a salon for a well-deserved pamper!

Happy Sparkling New Year to you all!

The Alternative Christmas Mini Gift Ideas!

Hi Everybody,

It’s that time of the year again and it seems to come around even quicker! I have chosen some things which I think would make any girl happy on Christmas day! All items I have paid for myself, no freebies for this blogger!

Apart from receiving make up or perfume gifts, I do like receiving books on beauty, fashion. Here are some I have bought and would make any girl interested in beauty/fashion happy.

Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes – This is a great book which covers everything you need to know about beauty and would be a great companion for all ages. All things are covered here, how to look after skin, how to buy the right beauty products for you, the do’s and dont’s are covered in this book. Sali Hughes is one of the best writers on beauty and I can recommend anyone to subscribe to her beauty channel.

Vogue on Series –  I bought the Coco Chanel and the Christian Dior titles and there are a nice introduction to each person. Lots of lovely photographs and a overview of their lives without being dull and too much detailed information which can be a little boring at times! These are really good value for money and all in the series would like nice on a bookshelf.

Miles of MAC – This is a pure photographic book looking at the archive of how MAC cosmetics are used by the great make-up artists. This has no written detail of the history of the company. Stunning photography and really shows how creative make up artists are and how you can be inspired by them.

Escada Gift Box Set – I choose this one as Escada is one of my favourite makers but you can buy little gift box of mini size perfumes in a set from most makers. Gucci, Lancome, Dior are just a few makers who make them. Boots have a nice selection of them.

Perfume Society – If you are a perfume lover like me, a gift subscription to the society would be a lovely gift from your loved one for only£25 per year. You can them buy the lovely sample boxes which are a joy and give you a lovely range of perfumes to try.

I do love the scent of candles and they make lovely presents. They come at all different price levels.  Here are some are my favourites I have found.  I bought the two below from Infinity Foods in Brighton, can’t find any information on their website so a journey to their shop is recommended!

Honey Beeswax Candle – A natural product which also helps the Action on Addiction charity. A simple hand rolled beeswax and I think any honey lover will love this.

Orange, Clove & Cinnamon Candle from Heaven Scent Incense Ltd – A 100% organic product from a company in Bradford-on Avon since 1993. A divine Christmas scent. Gorgeous.

I find the candles in TK Maxx and I know they are difficult to find here in the UK. I did some quick research and although the packaging has been redesigned, the scents seem the same. TK Maxx is a great place to find bargains if you have the patience to look around!

Villa Hermanos ‘Cinnamon Apple’ and ‘The Noir’ – Handmade in Valencia since 1904  and 100% natural wax blends. Cinnamon Apple is a lovely Christmas scent and The Noir would be perfect for the coffee lover, a wonderful and unusual scent.

Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser Christmas Edition – I took the smaller, Christmas edition. When you need to take off your make-up, this award winning product is perfect to do that.

Weleda Skin Food – Now that winter is here and our skin suffers because of it, you need something to help your skin if it’s rough and dry. This is the best in my view on the market and not at all expensive compared to other creams out there. A lovely thick cream which my husband uses all the time.

WAH London The Nail Edit Dreamy Days – I was walking around Boots and I find this recently released gem from WAH London. The company was founded by Sharmadean Reid  in 2008 and has now created its long awaited range.  If you know somebody who wants create stylish nail art then this gift set is perfect. It has 2 nail polishes, a nail art pen, 3 sponges and 2 different nail stickers. All this comes in a lovely acrylic box with a step-by-step guide to create a nail look. All for £23 and a bargain in my view.
