Hi Everybody,
The clocks have gone back and the nights are drawing in!
Here are some favourites from October.
BODYCARE/SKINCARE/NAILCARE
I purchased this Siberica Sea Buckthorn and Honey Body Scrub when I was in Latvia in the summer. It is a very thick salt scrub and it exfoiltates and nourishes the skin brilliantly. This scrub is rich in rare omega 3-6-7-9, beneficial fatty acids and a natural source of beta-carotenes. After use the skin feels soft and purified and the scent is also wonderful. A real pleasure to use and my skin loves it.
Champneys Citrus Blush Enlivening Daily Scrub was a gift from a friend who loves Champneys Spas! This is a different type of scrub compared to the Siberica. This is a creamier scrub with very fine grains to it. This is a more gentle scrub for people who don’t like the salt scrubs and finds them too abrasive on the skin. It feels like more like grains of sand on the body in a nice way and the scent is a lovely citrus-spice and feels the skin soft after using it in the shower. I prefer this to the lavender range which I didn’t like at all. They have different products in the range which I must try sometime but this is another excellent range from Champneys.
Argan + 5 Moroccan Spice Nourishing Shower Oil has a beautiful scent of infused Moroccan spice blends of ginger, cumin and cinammon which gives warmth to the oil. You massage the oil over your clean, damp body and rinse it off and it gives a nice soft, hydrated feel to the body with that beautiful scent over your body. I found this in Waitrose and I have seen other products from Argan + 5 that I would like to try.
Madara Multi Action Micellar Water is a multi-purpose micellar water. Made from moisturizing Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid and calming Northern Peony, It can dissolve make up, cleanses, tones and soothes. I will say that I have only used it to remove make up from around my eyes. For those who love everything organic, this is the one to use. It doesn’t sting the eyes and leaves no greasy feel at all. It can easily remove mascara but I have yet to try it on waterproof mascara. It can be considered pricey for 100ml and not sure if it’s good value to other brands but it is an excellent product to use.
Madara Exfoliating Oil-To-Milk Scrub is claimed to be the first oil to milk scrub. It smells like almonds! It feels oily when you rub it at first. It doesn’t feel abrasive at all and feels gentle on the skin. When you add water, it starts to become milky. It softens, smoothes the skin leaving it hydrated and free of impurities. My skin feels almost velvety to the touch! I really do love it and you don’t need to use a lot of it and it feels luxurious and is worth every penny in my view.
Elemis Pro-Radiance Hand & Nail Cream is from the anti-aging line created by Elemis. It quickly absorbs into the hands leaving them hydrated and dry-free. It creates a silky barrier for the hands and is the perfect protection for them. I do love my hand creams and it is important to look after your hands, especially during the autumn/winter days. Yet another great product from Elemis.
Famous Names Dadi Oil is 95% organic, made up of Avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil, Jojoba oil, Vitamin E and 21 other essential oils! I massage it into my nail plates before going to bed and when I wake up in the morning, I can see a real difference to them. The nails looked nourished, dry free and split free. I’m really happy with this little gem!
MAKEUP
Not a favourite but a disappointment which I had to share. I was very excited when I saw in Elle Magazine Benefit’s they’re Real double the lip ‘Pink Thrills’ as I do love pink lips. It is a very clever idea to use blend 2 colours to make an ombre effect on your lips. The smell reminds me of cherries. It applies well and looks goos on the lips. But the disappointment is how it wears through the day, it looks just awful! It crumbles, dries out and rolls onto the lips like dirt. It didn’t look attractive at all and I have to say that the hype is bigger than the product quality. Please Benefit, make sure the product works first before putting it onto the market. It is also expensive considering what the competition is for lipsticks, just think what you could buy in the market? Benefit is not a cheap brand and yet again I have been disappointed by one of their products. They need to do make a good product instead of relaying on gimmicks to mask the lack of product quality.
