Pixi Liplift Max Trio!

From left: Honey Sheen, Sheer Rose and Sparkling Quartz.

Hi Everybody,

I saw this cute little Christmas set in Marks & Spencers recently and I had to try it. I’ve tried make up before but never tried lip products from them.

This set is for women who want a plumper look to the lips but don’t want a dramatic look. It is a glossy lip plumper which you can wear on its own or over your lipstick. There is three colours in the set, all of which are subtle, soft shades. ‘Sparkling Quartz’ which is a sheer, iridescent, clear, sparkling shade. ‘Honey Sheen’ is a golden nude shade. ‘Sheer Rose’ is a dusty shade of brown. There is a peppermint tingling effect when you apply them on the lips. It gives a cool freshness to the lips but it does disappear over the day. They do look nice on the lips when applied over the lipstick. It does give a plumpness to the lips. On its own and you want a minimal make up look, the lips don’t feel naked and they do look fuller. Also my lips didn’t feel irritated or dry afterwards which is also a bonus.

For £12.50 the set is good value and 3 nice, easy to wear shades that should be good for all women.

Cosmopolitan Party Starter beauty box by Latest in Beauty!

Hi Everybody,

Latest in Beauty always do really good boxes. The products in the boxes are always well selected, with skincare, bodycare, nails, makeup and haircare products in them. They are never too heavy on a certain type of product.

In this Cosmopolitan Party Starter box you get 15 products and one gift card.

I have never been brave enough to try tanning products before so I am looking forward to try St Tropez Instant Tan Finishing Gloss. I have started to use IT Cosmetic Brow Power Universal Pencil as I have used up my Beauty Pie eyebrow pencil. I hope it will be as good as the Beauty Pie version! Erborian Pink Perfect Creme is a South Korean beauty brand so I am looking forward to using this primer. I don’t use primer under my foundation but it will be interesting how it works. Yes To Cotton Comforting Facial Wipes have gone to my sister already! Look Good Feel Better Sculpting Sponge is a make up sponge similar to other multi-tasking sponges you can buy. Always useful to have one! 10% goes to the LGFB cancer charity so a very worthwhile charity to support. Sleek Makeup Matte Me Lip Cream in ‘Rioja Red’ is a beautiful red colour and guess what? My sister took it!! Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White Black Toothpaste is a charcoal toothpaste! Will it stain my teeth?  I wrote a separate post on my Soaper Duper haul last week so I gave this Soaper Duper Vanilla Shea Body Wash to my sister so she can feel the love for these products as well! Gillette Venus Snap with Embrace Portable Razor are always good to use for holidays and such like, they are so good to use. I have to say I have never tried any from Tigi before so I am looking forward to using the Tigi Mini Hard Head Hold Hairspray. Hairsprays are always tricky to use for me sometimes it feels like glue and the effect disappears so quickly. I hope this is different. I like Sleek make up palettes, Sleek Makeup I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette in ‘All Night Along’ When I saw the name of the palette, it reminded me of the sing by Lionel Ritchie! I wanted to dance!! Sleek palettes are always great to use and the pigmentation is always brilliant. You never go wrong with a Nails Inc nail polish so the ‘Mayfair Market‘ polish is a most welcome nail polish!  I a twinkle in my eye and a smile on my face when I saw the Glamglow Gravitymud Firming Mask Treatment was in the box. I have wanted to try this for a while. Eylure VolumeNo 100 Lashes is great for parties to make the eyes pop! Glitterlution Glitter Pots are biodegradable.  Most glitter is made of plastic so this 100% earth-friendly is just as sparkly as the others! As I am a member of Beauty Pie, The 24-Hour Pass was given to my sister to enjoy the experience of Beauty Pie so she can see what great products they are!

This is a great combination of products, there’s always something new to try in them. I have never been disappointed by any of the Latest in Beauty boxes  and won’t be by this one!

Soaper Duper Body Products!

Hi Everybody,

I have wanted to try these new products since they were announced and I finally managed to get my hands on them.

Me and my sister went Christmas decoration shopping at the Range and luckily there is a large Tesco supermarket, who now stock Soaper Duper products, nearby. Kill two birds with one stone as they say!

They formulate with real ingredients so no plastic microbeads, no parabens, no phthalates and they sell them in big, basic, pistachio green plastic bottles. The body wash bottle reminds me of a cloud when you hold it on the side!

Of the range available, I particular liked three scents so I decided to pick up random products from the scents I liked. The one that stood out for me was the Deluxe Yuserfruit & Fig body wash.  The smell is divine, lots of fruit and a fresh greeness to it.  The fig makes such a difference to this body wash. I’m in the clouds with this body wash. I really really want this in a body lotion and scrub but they don’t. Soaper Duper, please make a scrub and body lotion in this scent!

I also bought the Zesty Lemon Body Scrub which has fine exfoliating coconut and luffa grains and shea butter suds and glycerin. All this helps to exfolitate the body leaving it gentle to the skin. So far I have been impressed by how well it exfolitates the body.

The last one I bought was the Shea Butter Body Lotion. This has pressed vanilla pods infused shea butter and Vitamin E. It also has various oil including  Coconut oil, cotton seed oil, peach kernel oil, meadowfoam seed oil, sweet almond oil and macadamia oil.  If you love vanilla you will love this. It does a little longer to rub it into the body but it moisturizers the body so well the skin feels so soft and smooth. Your body is almost lick-able in fact!

I really like these products, they feel luxurious, full of natural goodness (most are 90% plus natural)  they don’t cost a lot and they work great on you! What’s not to love about them?

On My Nails – Icing & Sprinkles!

Hi Everybody,

I fancied a little bit of pink on my nails this week and I also remembered I bought Ciate’s ‘Comic Strip’ paint pots. This nail varnish reminds me of hundreds and thousands sprinkles you put onto cupcakes or cookies! So I decided to create a nail effect look with it.

I choose Mavala’s ‘Riga’ nail polish which is a nice soft, subtle shade of pink. As usual I put on Mavala base coat to protect the nails. I then applied two coats of the colour and then applied the Ciate sprinkles onto the nails. I then applied Sally Hansen top coat to finish it off the look.

I think this is a nice and easy to do and fun nail look. Just the right colours to cheer you up as we enter winter.

October Favourites!

Hi Everybody,

The clocks have gone back and the nights are drawing in!

Here are some favourites from October.

BODYCARE/SKINCARE/NAILCARE

I purchased this Siberica Sea Buckthorn and Honey Body Scrub when I was in Latvia in the summer. It is a very thick salt scrub and it exfoiltates and nourishes the skin brilliantly. This scrub is rich in rare omega 3-6-7-9, beneficial fatty acids and a natural source of beta-carotenes. After use the skin feels soft and purified and the scent is also wonderful. A real pleasure to use and my skin loves it.

Champneys Citrus Blush Enlivening Daily Scrub was a gift from a friend who loves Champneys Spas!  This is a different type of scrub compared to the Siberica. This is a creamier scrub with very fine grains to it. This is a more gentle scrub for people who don’t like the salt scrubs and finds them too abrasive on the skin. It feels like more like grains of sand on the body in a nice way and the scent is a lovely citrus-spice and feels the skin soft after using it in the shower. I prefer this to the lavender range which I didn’t like at all. They have different products in the range which I must try sometime but this is another excellent range from Champneys.

Argan + 5 Moroccan Spice Nourishing Shower Oil has a beautiful scent of infused Moroccan spice blends of ginger, cumin and cinammon which gives warmth to the oil. You massage the oil over your clean, damp body and rinse it off and it gives a nice soft, hydrated feel to the body with that beautiful scent over your body. I found this in Waitrose and I have seen other products  from Argan + 5 that I would like to try.

Madara Multi Action Micellar Water is a multi-purpose micellar water. Made from moisturizing Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid and calming Northern Peony, It can dissolve make up, cleanses, tones and soothes. I will say that I have only used it to remove make up from around my eyes. For those who love everything organic, this is the one to use. It doesn’t sting the eyes and leaves no greasy feel at all. It can easily remove mascara but I have yet to try it on waterproof mascara. It can be considered pricey for 100ml and not sure if it’s good value to other brands but it is an excellent product to use.

Madara Exfoliating Oil-To-Milk Scrub is claimed to be the first oil to milk scrub. It smells like almonds! It feels oily when you rub it at first. It doesn’t feel abrasive at all and feels gentle on the skin. When you add water, it starts to become milky. It softens, smoothes  the skin leaving it hydrated and free of impurities. My  skin feels almost velvety to the touch! I really do love it and you don’t need to use a lot of it and it feels luxurious and is worth every penny in my view.

Elemis Pro-Radiance Hand & Nail Cream is from the anti-aging line created by Elemis. It quickly absorbs into the hands leaving them hydrated and dry-free.  It creates a silky barrier for the hands and is the perfect protection for them. I do love my hand creams and it is important to look after your hands, especially during the autumn/winter days. Yet another great product from Elemis.

Famous Names Dadi Oil is 95% organic, made up of Avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil, Jojoba oil, Vitamin E and 21 other essential oils! I massage it into my nail plates before going to bed and when I wake up in the morning, I can see a real difference to them. The nails looked nourished, dry free and split free. I’m really happy with this little gem!

MAKEUP

Not a favourite but a disappointment which I had to share. I was very excited when I saw in Elle Magazine Benefit’s they’re Real double the lip ‘Pink Thrills’ as I do love pink lips. It is a very clever idea to use blend 2 colours to make an ombre effect on your lips. The smell reminds me of cherries. It applies well and looks goos on the lips. But the disappointment is how it wears through the day, it looks just awful! It crumbles, dries out and rolls onto the lips like dirt. It didn’t look attractive at all and I have to say that the hype is bigger than the product quality. Please Benefit, make sure the product works first before putting it onto the market. It is also expensive considering what the competition is for lipsticks, just think what you could buy in the market? Benefit is not a cheap brand and  yet again I have been disappointed by one of their products. They need to do make a good product instead of relaying on gimmicks to mask the lack of product quality.
