Caudalie Set.

Hi everybody,

Caudalie are a French based company launched in 1995 by Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas from the family vineyard in France and has grown into one of the most successful  skin care brands in the world. I have never tried Caudalie before but I was in the Space NK shop in Brighton and I spotted this little gift set. It consists of a little travel bag with 4 travel size items. I always think it is a good idea to buy these little gift sets as you can try them without spending your money on the full size versions in case you don’t like them. The set contains  Grape water and Camomile cleansing water make up remover, Vinosource Moisturizing sorbet, Divine oil and Fleur De Vigne shower gel.

The moisurizer looks sour milk when you pour some onto your hand but  it feels so light and absorbs so quickly you barely notice it. I have break outs on my skin and this has really helped.

The Divine oil smells gorgeous and is a dry oil which dries almost instantly. It really hydrates the skin and can be used not just for your body and face, but for your hair, nails or even as a massage oil. A wonderful product.

The shower gel is soap free enriched with aloe vera and has the fragrance of white rose and rose pepper. It really is a beautiful gel with a lovely smell.

I have left the make up remover till last as this hasn’t really worked for me. I find it very difficult to remove ordinary black mascara as it left me with grey residue stains all around my eyes. I had to use a different product to remove the stains and time consuming to do this. It smells wonderful but I have to say this wasn’t for me and I am glad I tried it.

I can’t wait to try other products from this wonderful company, particularly the hand creams, face creams and the body products. Paris here I come! 🙂

Laura Mercier Eyeshadow Trio.

Hi all,

Today I will be a quick review on one of Space NK sale bargains I bought myself recently. As I am a January baby I decided to treat myself! I don’t really buy much from Space NK but as there was a sale on-line and I had to have a look. I don’t normally like buying on-line as I really do prefer testing, smelling, feeling the product. After all you can’t do that when buying on the internet but I decided when I saw the sale to have a go.

I bought two things in the Space NK, the eyeshadow I will review today and the other product later. This was my first Laura Mercier product I have ever bought and the full name for the product is Petite Baked Eye Colour Bonbons- Multi-Finish Amethyst Trio! Aa  great name for a small product! There were two eyeshadow trio sets in the sale, one was purple and the other a turquoise colour. I decided to buy the purple amethyst trio.  It has a compact set, perfect for a clutch or small hand bag. No room for a brush but has a nice mirror. It has a wonderful pigment, easy to apply and easy to blend in. It has a slight metallic finish to it and is velvety to the touch. It is a lovely product and I have thoroughly enjoyed using it. The price was £10 instead of the original price of £20. I went to Liberty’s and I tried the turquoise and I was impressed by the colours on that palette as well. I went home and tried to buy it but they had sold out!  Even so, I am very happy with just one of them.

Waitrose 3 for 2 Gift offer

Hi Everybody,

I have to talk about Waitrose gift buys I purchased recently.  To those who don’t know Waitrose are the poshest supermarket chain in the UK and is the part of the John Lewis partnership. Simple as that! They stock, not just the usual brands, but also the more expensive products other supermarkets do not stock. They stock Neal’s Yard, Korres ,Balance Me and Yes to Carrots, brands you won’t normally see in other supermarkets.

As it was the Festive period, Waitrose offer a 3 for 2 gift offer and I succumbed to the temptation being offered! The first thing I picked up was the Neal’s Yard English Lavender set. I often go to the shop in Brighton but can’t me a decision on what to get! This set was a nice sample to try and had in the set the Bath & Shower gel and the body lotion. The wonderful thing is that they are organic, non-animal tested and British.  I’m looking for ward to trying this and the smell is very much like when you brush your hand through Lavender.

The Balance Me super smoothing hand cream duo was an easy choice as you all know I like my hands creams! The set included the super moisturising and  the Rose Otto hand creams. This is yet another award winning British brand and I will review them later for you.

The freebie was the Lanolips Christmas Essentials.  The set included the Rose Hand Balm intense and the Ointment Multi Purpose Balm. This is an Australian award winning company and they use natural ingredients for their products. This is new to me and I have often looked at them in Boots but never bought them but as this was the freebie I thought I better try them. The hand balm has an old fashioned smell but it does leave the hands silky smooth. The Ointment is thicker than I thought and I have tried some on my lips as they were dry and it has helped me.

So, many thanks Waitrose for offering such lovely products!

On My Nails – OPI Mariah Carey ‘The Look’

Happy New Year everybody,

Decided to share with you what is on my nails today.  I purchased this set last month and it contains 3 full size bottles ( I have included the name of each polish if you want to buy them individually) including a gold glitter ( My Favourite Ornament), a dark red-brown ( Vision of Love) a sequin polish ( I Snow You Love Me)

You can use them individually or as I did and put all three on to create a nail art look. I put the darker colour on first and it needed 2 coats to get the colour right. The gold glitter is a lovely pigment colour  and the sequin is for decoration to finish off the ‘rock star look’.

I think all three look great together and really gives a festive look. I can’t wait to try them individually as they are three great looks for your nails.
