Narciso Rodriguez For Her L’Absolu EDP!

 

Hi Everybody,

I went to Boots to have a look around the make up and perfumes. Normally they have a special offers shelf of perfumes. I always look but I spotted something that I have never tried or seen before. Narciso Rodriguez for her L’Absolu. I had seen other perfumes from his range but not this one.

The deep purple bottle is immediately striking. It’s simple, elegant and classy.

The scent is intoxicating to me. White floral of tuberose and jasmine hits with the first spray and I can also feel a fruity touch too. The dry down is when the musky comes into play. Patchouli, amber and the sandalwood give warmth and depth to the scent.

The purple bottle describes the colour of the perfume perfectly in my view. It feels you are sipping a expensive red wine! So rich and satisfying.

This is an expensive, sexy ,addictive and even flirty perfume , perfect for a night out with your man!

On My Nails – Barry M Molten Metal ‘Holographic Lights’.

Barry M have recently released their new Molten Metal collection. Each of the 10 chrome effect shades have a mirror-shine foil finish that sparkle.  Metallic nails are in vogue with other companies but I really liked the Barry M versions and the price! I decided to go for ‘Holographic Lights’ polish. The colour reminds me of shiny gift wrap. When I was growing up at my small school classes, I remembered the Christmas period and the bags full of chocolate sweets were wrapped in a multi colour bag just like this colour!

I have to say the brush is so fantastic. It’s easy to work with and I think the brush has been updated from their original, nail polishes. It does make all the difference in applying the colour I think. The colour is so beautiful, I don’t have anything to compare it too in my collection, it’s so different. I used 2 coats for maximum effect because I wanted the colour to stand out. When I applied the colour, I said ‘oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness’! In the light it is simply amazing, it’s like a disco ball!

Barry M products have really nailed with this collection I think. I will definitely pick up a few more colours from the range, I think ‘Pink Ice and ‘Gold Rush’ look stunning.

September Favourites!

Evenings are getting shorter and the nights are drawing in..

Here are some new things I have been enjoying using.

MAKEUP

I’m not into the crazy face sculpting fashion but I have been liking the Beauty Pie Pro-Glow Sculpting Face Palette. It is in a handy product which you have everything in one palette. You have a setting powder to set your make up, I usually use this on my forehead and nose. A bronzer/contour which is a light matte finish. This can be used on paler skin for a sun-kissed link or to build up for a full bronze look.  The cream highlighter is a champagne colour but with a hint of glitter. I have found that it stayed all day on me. The rosy coloured blush gives you a little flushed to your cheeks. I have been really enjoying this and the mirror is a large practical size too.

The Body Shop Eye Colour stick in ‘Siberian Quartz‘  is a purple-aubergine cream eyeshadow. I love wearing this for a dramatic eye look as it blends easily and sets quickly so it doesn’t move all day along. It doesn’t feel that it dries out and I love the practical stick  as it so easily to work with . Also good for people who are in a rush!

Barry M Dazzle Dust ‘Rose Gold’ is a beautiful colour. I do have a few pots of the dazzle dust by Barry M in my dressing table.  It’s easy to work with, blends easily and nicely pigmented. It looks great on the eyes and the great thing is that its not expensive. What’s not to like?

Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer ‘Pink Ruby’ is a dazzler of a colour. Its rich, pigmented and stands out on the lips. Its a bit of bling-bling for the lips! It has a little stickiness but I don’t mind that. The only minor downside is that I wish it had a doe applicator rather than a brush but you can’t have everything!

SKINCARE, BODYCARE & HAIR

I have been using Avene Hydrance Intense Serum for two and a half months. This serum is for very dehydrated/sensitive skin. I found that my skin was helped by using this serum. My skin felt hydrated, less redness. The blemishes appeared less often, the skin looked even, radiant and luminous. The serum has a light consistency and has a pleasant and not overbearing scent.  It doesn’t feel tacky on the skin. I applied the serum before I applied a moisturizer and no matter what moisturizer I used, it sat perfectly.

I applied Lancome Energie De Vie Nuit sleeping mask in the evenings instead of my night moisturizer. It is a jelly like cream and my skin felt moisturized, hydrated and plump when I used it. The skin feels amazing and awake and you only need a little of this little gem of a product to see the benefits.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules is a lightweight, silky smooth serum . They are the first help against the first the signs of aging by strengthening and restoring the skin’s moisture barrier. My skin in the morning looked different after the first use. It looked smoother and radiant. No breakouts afterwards so I’m happy about that and I really must treat myself to more!

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse is a multi purpose dry oil for face, body and hair. I am not a fan of multi purpose oils. I didn’t like using this oil on my face and hair but on the body it is simply amazing!It didn’t feel greasy at all compared to other oils when applied with them you feel like a slippery eel! It absorbed so easily and the scent is subtle and pleasant and not overpowering. The skin felt different, not at all sticky but so soft and smooth.

I love mangoes, especially when you cut a fresh and ripe mango and the scent comes from the fruit, so Klorane Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner with Mango Butter reminds me of that.  My hair likes mango too as it looked and felt nourished. It also felt moisturized and no feeling of weighing the hair down like some shampoos I have tried in the past. The hair felt so soft and light like a little chicken’s hair! It looked supple the hair looked healthy with a lovely shine to it. Its a little pricey maybe but its worth it although I did buy this on offer in Boots so you do need to shop around. I hope to see more variety as the stock is quite limited compared to France.

Estée Lauder Pink Ribbon 2017 – 25th Anniversary Collection‎!

In 1992, Evelyn H Lauder co-created the iconic pink ribbon and  founded the Estee Lauder Companies Breast Cancer campaign to create a world without breast cancer. To recognize the 25th anniversary, Estee Lauder have brought out a beauty box filled with the Estee Lauder companies products. £15 from the £25 price will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Centre.  So far over $70m have been donated to support research and medical services.

The products included are Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser, Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment, Origins Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay ( a favourite of mine!), Bumble & Bumble Pret-a Powder, Bobbi Brown  Vitamin Enriched Face Base, Clinque All About Eyes, Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara and finally Clinque Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm ‘Super Strawberry’ (coming to the end of my one, so I am delighted to have a new one in this colour!)

I look forward to trying these and reviewing my thoughts of them. This is a lovely selection of products and I hope that it will a raise lots of money so we can eradicate this terrible disease from people’s lives forever.

Calvin Klein ‘Beauty’ EDP!

I love a good perfume sale. There is always a perfume to try that I hadn’t looked at before. You try the tester on the counter and you think ‘I really like that and I have to have it!’. I rarely look at Calvin Klein fragrances ( I do like one of the ‘Euphoria’ perfumes but I cannot remember which one as there is so many!)but I did see on offer one day ‘Beauty’  and I was impressed by the scent that it made my list to buy!

This was created in 2010 to support the clothing collection and was created by Sophie Labbe. The bottle is a heavy, shapely flacon. Simple but modern. The scent is not sweet at all. It is a white floral with a definite sharpness from the citrus. I can immediately feel on the dry down the woodiness, amber, musk and the heady feel of jasmine. It is a modern, light, understated scent. If I had to describe the perfume it would be white and minimalist.

Beauty is a modern, mature understated scent. It’s an air kiss on the cheek rather than a full kiss on the lips!

My Morning Beauty Routine!

You can see outside Autumn is here. The leaves are falling, conkers from the horse-chestnut trees are around and the rain is falling! The countdown to Christmas has started with the shops beginning to fill up with delicious beauty gifts..

I thought I would share my current morning beauty routine and some thoughts on the products I have been using.

When I get up I first have a glass of water. I wash my face with cold water to wake myself up and the skin! The first product I use is a toner and it helps to cleanse the skin and prepare it for the rest of the products. I am currently using Neal’s Yard Purifying Palmarosa Toner. This has a nice citrus scent, it is not harsh for your skin and doesn’t dry my skin out. My skin feels nice and clean.

The next step is an eye cream. At the moment I am using Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Eye Balm. This eye cream hydrates and moisturizes the eye area. This eye cream has been excellent in slowing down the light wrinkles around my eye area and has prevented dryness and tightness around my eyes.

The third step is a serum. I have been using Beauty Pie Jeju Daily Antioxidant Superinfusion Serum. This is a lightweight serum, applies and absorbs very good. I have found my skin to be smoother, calmer and to be almost radiant! For the price, I have found this to be an excellent product.

The final step in my routine is a day cream. My choice recently has been Natura Siberica Aralia Mandshurica Day Cream. I bought this when I was in Latvia. Born in Siberia and made in Europe, this is made from Hyaluronic Acid, Vitagenyl, Vitamin E and extracts of wild harvested Siberian Geranium. This really hydrates the skin and no breakouts when using it. My skin feels and looks much better. I don’t feel any dryness when using it. I have found  that even when I have used different foundations, it has glided easily over the day cream and no patches or ‘cottage cheese’ effect on the skin. This product is also SPF20 and uses naturally harvested Siberian plants. It also has no parabans, polyethylene glycol, mineral oils and synthetic dyes.

For the moment I am really happy with my routine. Once I have finished them, I’m sure I will buy them again in the future but I will also try other products as well!
